Except he introduction and the conclusion, the body of this piece consists of 5 parts, that is, the proposal of the concept of "Intellectuals' Writing", the dispute on poetry, the investigation of the poets and the writing, its aesthetic features and skills.Chapter One is regarding the proposal of the concept. The poets of this school create a poetry magazine called "Tendency", advocating the spirit of poetry and "Intellectuals' Writing". In another word, poet is not a writer who knows the secrets of poetry, but persons of letters with strong sense of responsibility. Chapter Two concerns the dispute of "Intellectuals' Writing" which interpret the theme from the following three aspects, namely, the dispute between "Intellectuals' Writing" and "Writing of Common People", the poetic focus in the dispute and the shared opinions of poetry. Both sides defend each other on the basis of three key points: "the grassroots' opinions", "knowledge / intellectuals' opinion" and "the Integration with the Western World". That is behind the common understanding of "Personal Writing", "the Language Itself and "the Pure Poetry", which is hidden under the phenomenon. Chapter Three focuses on the few representatives of the poets: Oyang Jianghe, Si Chuan, Wang Jiaxin, Cheng Dongdong, Zhuo Yongxin and so on. Through this chapter, we can have a glimpse of the "Intellectuals' Writing". Chapter Four analyses in detail the aesthetic features of the rise of "Personal Writing", which makes the 90s and 80s poetry become an "an profound feature which snaps easily". Writing of middle aged, compared with writing of the youth, features "limitation", "repetition", "nostalgia". Narration is put forward as correction of object-oriented tendency, which is a fundamental reform. Chapter Five penetrates into the writing skills. The "Intellectuals' Writing" created a new look of the writing. It pursues Chinese experience, location, day-to-day experience and displays the strengthenedness and comprehensiveness of dramatic and object-oriented features. It advocated a intellectual spirit which based on such concepts as "idealism", "responsibility" and "minority". They pursued the adventure in diction and insist on borrowing "Western Sources" which was opposed with criticism of "Writing of Common People". Both sides launched a debate around such key points as "Folk Position", "Knowledge or Intellectuals' Position", "Integration with Western Countries". In the debate, the general shape came to light; its taste and pursuit of poetry gradually became clear. Meanwhile, the construction of the poetry conception has become complete day by day, however, its inner shortcomings were also exposed. The constructive conception on poetry of Intellectuals' writing and the poem text brought some positive effect on the growth of Chinese modern poetry, but the inner shortcomings eventually resulted in its downfall.
