| Although Chinese film market is becoming mature, and the film industry is growing up well, Chinese rural film business atrophies gradually.The national bureau of Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Culture put forward an project named "2131" in the end of 1998, for purpose of the rural film business' development across the century. In September of 2006, for effectively operation of the "2131" project, the government of Chongqing put a benefiting people project about rural film on the agenda. However, Rome was not built in a day. Whether the problem can be essentially solved by some decrees? How the situation can be essentially changed? And what will be the real situation of Chinese grass-roots film business? There are a variety of comments on these questions, but there isn't any action of deeply observing and analyzing the grass-roots film business under the microscopes up to now.Just for the purpose of deeply observing and analyzing the grass-roots film business, the author of this paper visited 13 districts and counties, and got plenty of firsthand materials about grass-roots film business by interviewing the relevant departments, the film companies, the rural film operators, and some peasants.The film company is the main vehicle for rural film's showing and developing. This paper makes Jiangjin Film Company as the main study object, thoroughly analyzing the grass-roots film business by dimensions of history versus present situations, economic returns versus social effect, film show versus distribution, film incomes versus non-film incomes, rural show versus city show, etc.The study of this paper not only has important significance for understanding the rural film business of Chongqing, it also can be a revelation for the whole China's rural film business' development. |
