The Relative Research Between Fixed Denture Patients' Personality Traits Assessment And Patients' Postoperative Satisfaction Ratings

In recent years, mouth rehabilitation has been developing dramatically. As People's living standards are improving and the pursuit of denture is becoming universal, more and more people require fixed denture. Going with it, however, the medical disputes arise frequently, some of which are totally attributed to the patients'Psychological problems. Modern Medicine has established biology-psychology-society model. Only mouth rehabilitation doctors have mastered some psychological knowledge and know the patient's psychological state well ,are they able to work positively and medical disputes can be avoided as many as possible. During the treatment, some adult patients were found that they could not face their problem properly. Some patients were unsatisfied with the results, though the operations were very successful technically. Personality is one of the most important psychological characteristics, which is demonstrated by the mode of adaptation to people, to oneself or to the environment. Personality can not be divided into good or bad, however, people with different personalities will have different response or different intensity of response when facing the same stimulation,and achieve the different evaluation of the same thing. Therefore, it seems to be very important that we study personalities of patients undergoing surgical orthodontics and predict their post operation satisfaction.In this study,with 86 patients of orthographic of the stomatology college of the Fourth Military Medical University involving as participants, and two questionnaires (16PF and Satisfaction Questionnaire) serving as tools, we made a study on relationship between personalities of patients and their post operation satisfaction.The key conclusions were as follows:l .The patient got significantly higher scores than those of health adult in factor A,F,I,N and O,however got significantly lower scores than in factor C, E, G, L, Q1, Q2 and Q4.2. The regression analysis demonstrated that the stability, sensitivity and independence standard scores in 16PF were negative correlated with the satisfaction of patients with mouth rehabilitation patients. But the specialty achievement factor and creative ability factor standard scores in 16PF were positive correlated with the satisfaction of patients with mouth rehabilitation patients.Generally, this essay shows that, in the mouth rehabilitation psychological field, the research on body image cannot be carried out by using single index, but be evaluated from different levels and different angles with many indexes. Due to restrictions, this research only involves the evaluation of self-body image satisfactory degree and character of personality. The research method and practicability and reliability of the index are going to be verified and improved.
