Initiation Story is the American version of Bildungsroman which first originated in Germany in the late 18th century. Generally speaking, an initiation story has a theme of narrating the course of one's growing-up. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn as Mark Twain's masterpiece is always considered a typical teenager's initiation story. This thesis aims to study Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in the context of the initiation story, and from the angle of Huck becoming mature and developing in the process of escaping with Jim, to analyze Huck and his father and mother figures that influence him during his developing process, and then this thesis analyzes the conflicts in Huck's conscience and those between Huck and Tom. In addition, it also explores Huck's three rounds of "death-rebirth" developing stages. Finally, through the narrative about Huck's experiences of growing-up and developing from innocence to maturity mentally and psychologically, we put forward that teenagers' conscience conflicts are inseparable from his initiation.
