Based on the latest theoretical researches about second language acquisition and foreign language learning, the author of this thesis discusses the relationship between learning styles and English language learning; compares the advantages and disadvantages of different learning styles,and comes to the conclusion that English language teachers should pay due attention to the importance of learners'language learning styles, and adopt appropriate teaching methods to help learners improve their learning efficiency. Language teachers should have a proper attitude towards this aspect and help students enhance their self-awareness, and promote their progress in their English language learning process.Learning style is an individual's personal character, the study and research of learning styles surely has valuable implications for language learning, especially for English language learners and educators. It is highly necessary for English language teachers to learn about their students'needs,capacities,potentials and learning style preferences. No matter what the teaching material is, there will be learners with multiple learning styles and learners with a variety of major or minor learning styles. The ways teachers teach should be adapted to the ways learners learn. Theories of learning style may of great significance in helping learners explore their own learning styles and shape their learning approach to suit the requirements of particular learning task. Language teachers should understand learners'learning styles and adjust their own teaching styles to apply learners. They should also pay attention to the difference of learning styles and care for different learners. This study can benefit English language learners as well as educators.
