Popular music is one important part in social life and world culture nowadays. The research into the theory of popular music is the focus of study which needs music researchers'great efforts. The research of popular music from the music morphology(which means the composing technological aspects of the music form, harmony and orchestrate.)is a good approach into this study. There are several books about the harmony of popular music at home. However, the study of some special person's harmony style needs more attention. This is the significance of my study. The Beatles plays an important role in the history of popular music.Beatles'music style inherited the early Bruce's blue style and created the new method of creating popular music which made great contributions to the development of music.The Beatles/ 1962-1966 and The Beatles/1966-1970 which were published in April, 1973 include 54 classical songs of The Beatles. This study is a thorough analysis of the Beatles'harmony style with the classical songs in the foreign original edition book The Beatles/1962-1970 which coordinates with the album as its materials and centers on the harmony technique. It focuses on the analysis of the use of harmony in the Beatles'works. The study is carried out in the following parts:Chapter OneThe introduction of the Beatles and its features of the music.This part is a brief introduction of the band's development and its process of music creation. This part focuses on the band's process of music creation.Chapter TwoThe features of the Beatles'music. This part summarizes the features of Beatles'music. This forms a systemic summary of its music from melody, rhythm, fabric, etc.Chapter Three and Chapter Four form the main body of the paper. Chapter Three analyzes the chord in the Beatles'song. At first, it expounds the use of the chord with popular features, including added note chord, Bruce chord, sus chord, Designated bass chord, etc.Then analyzes accidental chord. It makes an elaboration on how they inherited the former chord and how they developed the field of chords in popular music. Chapter Four is a description from the harmony aspect, including the linking of chords , the model of Bruce's harmony framework, chord progression and other linking of chords in popular music. It also expounds the application of these models on the Beatles'works.Chapter Five describes the features of modality and tonality in the Beatles'works. The conclusion forms the summary of the general harmony style of the Beatles'music, its contribution to the popular music in the later time and its value of making this research into its works. The creative method of the Beatles influences a lot in the popular music and rock music at that time and in the later time. It plays an essential part in the popular music.
