Research In Mirror Image Relationship Of Literature Existence

What is literature is the first and basic question of all the literary theory faced, also other questions derive from it. Ontology of literature derived through a long course of period in western countries and its evolvement process has something to do with the evolvement of philosophical ontology. When looking through history of the western aesthetics, we can get different ideas and opinions of ontology of literature, such as imitation theory of ancient Greece poetics, symbolism theory of medieval, reappearance theory and performance theory of modern time poetics. All of these theories need to answer what literature is, unfortunately, none of them can give out an actually answers. Most of them take one characteristic of the literature as the whole nature of it. The first part of the first chapter in this thesis mainly introduces the ontology from theory of ancient Greece poetics, western modern aesthetics, expounds the opinions and points to ontology of literature from time to time. Some can only tell one nature of certain aspect of ontology of literature but not the unitary substantive characteristics. In the second part it mainly discusses the reconsideration to the ontology of literature against this background of changeable of ontology in western philosophy, transferred from noumenon to existence.Literature is not a changeless object which exists in a certain space, but is a mental phenomena and it is a dynamic process in a changeable condition. Literature existence cannot do without the four elements, world, author, works and reader. Literature existence performs as dynamic process of mutual effect, mutual communication of the four elements. And the second chapter of this thesis takes the works as the basic points, discussing the relationship of mutual effect, mutual communication between works and the world as well as works and reader. Mirror image relationship of the four elements comprised literature existence is not insulating or closed with each other but open and have something to do with each other. Not only exists mirror image relationship between works and world, works and readers but also interaction and reciprocity relationship. The literature existent just is to be reflected in this open mirror image relationship. So, in the third chapter of the thesis discusses the mode of literature existence, that is the communications among world, authors, works and readers. Besides, this chapter also takes the literature existence as the social communication process of creation and acceptance. And also it looks literature as the social phenomenon and made known the character of social communication of literature existence.
