The Condition Of Marriage And Family In The Region Of Xizhou In Tang Dynasty

A great deal of ancient documents, have been unearthed of Turpan in the region, plenty of which are economic documents of Xizhou prefecture in Tang Dynasty about the accounts of the countryside, the records of the family holders, the records of the family members that can reflect the current marriage situation . Based on these documents and previous research,this paper gives a discussion on the life of marriage and family in the region of Xizhou in Tang Dynasty.This article consists of five parts.The introduction shows the reason of selecting problem of research ,the research of current condition, the methods and the main issues this paper will discuss.Duing the second part,it partly shows the condition of the ordinary family living in the western area of Xizhou, Tang Dynasty and concentrates on the research of family structure and family ideas.During the third part,it diccusses the marriage form according to marriage problem systematically and expounds the possibility of existence of Shouji Marriage System and the phenomenon of intermarry existing widely in the area.The fourth part,demonstrates the analysis of this special phenomenon exsited in this region.Because of the influence of the war and tax,lots of special families appears widely,and the sex ratio have been broken.The last part is the conclusion about the whole paper.
