The concept of makedness is founded by Trubetzkoy,N.S, the phonemes scientist of the Prague School Since the 1930s,20th century. And now the markedness theory became a complete theoretical system after the development of Jackson and other linguists. Markedness theory is a universal theory in all language and all levels of a specific language, so it is identified by many linguists. At present, this theory has been applied to various fields in the studying of language. The main purpose of this paper is exploring the studying of the markness theory and it application in the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In this paper, we explain the concept of the markedness firstly, then we purchase the development of the markedness theory. Finally, we inspect the application of the markedness in Chinese language. Through the inspection we found that the introduction and explaination of the markedness theory were scattered and fragmented. In this paper we rationalize the application of the markedness theory in Chinese language. Presently, the studying of the markedness theory in Chinese just limited in Chinese itself, and nobody combined the theory with the teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this paper, using the relationship of the markedness theory and the acquisition of the second language, we attempt to explore the application of the theory in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, we hope that the paper can inspired the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
