| The thesis focuses on examining the Min Genealogies before 1949 in the collected total of 2,454 by using metrological and statistic analysis of literature. Such aspects are made statistic analyses as the time of compilation, the version, the region and the distribution of family names. And then the thesis, by means of specific case studies, evaluates the historic value of this Genealogies from the perspective of society, history, system of religion, character, education, and the relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. It is aimed to engage more scholars and experts into the study on the Genealogies and make the most of them. Therefore, the Min Genealogies can better bring into play its role as documentary treasures in a new era. |
