Problem solving is defined that transformed from elementary-state to goal-state, and the transformed of the state which is caused from the representation for the problem by individual. In this research argued that correct representation leaded subject disposed information in the problems accurately, bring correct ratiocinative approach in the cognize process, finally achieved the correct answer for the problem. Problem representation possibly not only contains an inner representation but also contains an external representation, here discussed the key-elicitation information for representation, was that attempt to achieve the vinculum from the inner representation to the external representation, discussed the representation's effect for problem solving.The paper included three parts, first part aimed at the problem material's effect to the problem solving, selected comparatively typical problems which isn't depend on academic knowledge, and achieved systematic open test, packed up the basic factors which promoted the problem solving that: key-information, process-strategy and information-operate wise, then by the qualitative and quantitatively analysis, compiled a more credibility and approve test material; second part test the students from art and science, examined the effect of the three basic factors, key-information, process-strategy and information-operate wise, which is correlative with representation deeply; third part discussed the key-information and process-strategy, used the EyeLink II record the cognitive process trait, compared the different of the effect on cognitive process ease by the two factors, and their effect to the representation. The paper indicate such research conclusions:1. Different types of problem material subsisted different key-information, the material engender the basic effect to representation, subject in problem situation, would coalescent the material to detect the seemly key-information for problems.2. Seemly representation on key-information for different types of problems, what promoted the problem solving, it indicated that the factor which is leading the problem solving is the key-information, correct key-information lead correct answer, wrong one would lead the incorrect solving.3. In representation, key-information ease the cognitive load more observably. In cognitive process, the subject representation the key-information, would economize the cognitive source.The paper according to validate for the hypothesis, then combine the reference, discussed suggests for key-information teaching in applied education.
