This document investigates the Baroque dance rhythm in J.S.Bach's French Suites from the viewpoint of piano padagogy. Not noly does it examine the dance steps and metric structures of various Baroque dances appeared in French Suites, but also give the pedagogic suggestions of how to present the rhymic pulse in piano playing. Combined with ample music examples, pictures of dance steps and symbol indications, this study provides a new approach of inspiring inner rhythmic pulse of piano students through association of dance body movements, of which the significance is beyond the discussion of French Suites.
