This paper conducts the study in the following research pattern:to explore styles through history,to mirror culture through styles,to analyze literature through culture and to taste personality through literature.Taking Ming style as the subject,this thesis focuses on inquiring into its development in Han Dynasty,explores its cultural connotation and the character,the tastesand interests of people in that era from its different types,and analyzes different systems and styles of Ming style in Han Dynasty from literary perspective.The first chapter makes studies from two angles by the anlaysis of the developmental history of stylistics.On one hand,this chapter probes into the current situation and significance of researches on Ming style from macroscopic view,and stades that the popularity of temporary stylistics studies is due to the mutual interaction between ancient styles' external environment's change and their internal requirements.The studies on the ancient styles mainly concentrated on two levels—personal research and the literary forms;their research scope is confined to some specific or partical problems.However,those studies are lacking in necessary summary,promotion and comparation of the original from of ancient styles. Thus,this thesis regards that the key to breakthrough the present research circumstance on ancient stylistics is returning to traditional stylistic context,integrating cultural background,exploring and tracing the develpment and basic features of styles by means of their original forms.On the other hand,this chapter interpretes Ming style and discusses the cultural background of Ming style studies from a microscopic angle.Meanwhile,through comparison among Ming,Zhen,Song and Zan styles over both the applied functions and cultural connotation levels,it comes to a conclusion that all atyles come from their functions,and different forms and cultural characters are generated in their combinating with the culture of norm fo etiquete.Chapter two makes an analysis of historical material and works and elaborates the developmental evolution of Ming style in the pre-Qin days.Taking times as its research longitude and classitying its latitude into ancient times.Zhou Dynasty and Qin Dynasty,this part makes a thorough inquiry into the course of evoluation of Ming style in pre-Han times.The author figures out that Ming style in ancient times is merely asimple applied instrument without cultural connotation so customs;based on preserving the traditional functions,Ming style in Zhou Dynasty extends the application of styles and stares to be closely linked with the culture of norm of etiquete;Ming style in Qin Dynasty simply analyzes LiSi's Ming stylistic works and personal appointment system in old days.The third chapter lays stress on the inquiry into the overall development of Ming style in Han Dynasty. It puts forward that on the basis of the maintenance of traditional applied functions,Ming style guadually penetrates into people's daily life in Han days owing to the increasingly extending scope and situations of the application of styles .Being influenced by the cultural beliefs and literary thoughts in Han Dynasty,the spread of Ming style reflects a trendency from the rpper to the lower classes.The fact that Ming style's attribute is gradually faining independence marks the transformation of styles' social functions into aesthetic ones,which serves as the basic reason of the richness and variaty of Ming style's system,type pattern and features in Han Dynasty.Consequently based on the exploration into the richness of styles' carrier,this chapter attaches great importance to the discussion of the cultural connotations of different types of Ming style inHan Dynasty.The last chapter studies different systems and types of Ming style in Han Dynasty from the angle of literary thoughts.Due to the impact of literary ideas,there is a variety of literary types of Ming style in Han days .And Ming style at that time possesses the basic forms of later literary patterns,which mainly have four forms:Shi,Sao,Xu ang Fu styles.On this basis,this chapter also explores Ming style's unique aesthetic styles,whose connotation is the production of the joint effect by multi-factors.
