In the new era,many films are just from the adaptation of literary works, but in the past the attitude to the literary elite is totally different from now. The followings are explanation respectively:In the early 80s, Xie Jin,who is the represent of the third generation director, in the concept of the adaptation, followed the concept of "be faithful to the original".So it raised the human dimension of Xie Jin's movie adaptation , but also brought about the defects of independent character .In literary circles in the late 80's, the boom of searching the cultural boot emerged. The elite writers rethought the history and tried to find the root of the culture. The enlightenment and the attitude of the elite writers responsed the attention of the fifth generation directors.So the directors set their sights on the excellent literary works.But the "fifth generation" directors are not rigidly adhere to the adaptation concept of "be faithful to the original",they used a radical reorganization to the original work for his own use. In the 90s, in the deepening of reform and opening-up period, the best writers are also divided in shock.Some writers still adhere to a consistent position of the elite, while the emergence of Wang Shuo shocked the literary world. Under the impact of the entertainment film from Hong Kong and Taiwan,Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige began a difficult transition.They began to tilt to the business. Chen Kaige sighted on the popular Hong Kong writer-- Li Bihua; and Zhang Yimou offered a "gang" type of film for the audience.In the new millennium, the network appears to lower the threshold of the works.All of a sudden, everyone is a writer,emerging all kinds of literal works.The writer , as the traditional elite, are as a thing of the past. By the impact of globalization, Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige have now abandoned the literary elite into their "large" era. They carry a "documentary" principle and use the camera to display the images of the ordinary characters. The literary elite have been completely abandoned.
