The Realization Of "a New Life"

This thesis will interpret the novel My Antonia from the new perspective-ecofeminism, by analyzing the realization of Antonia's ecological self, we seek to highlight that men and nature are an inseparable whole, with the feminine care, human can live in harmony with nature, a harmonious"new life"can be achieved. Here the"new life"on the one hand, refers to the new way of living between men and women, that is harmoious relations between them; on the other hand, it refers to a new living state that human can co-exist in harmony with nature. However, a prerequisite for the realization of this"new life"is that we must change the original binary mode of thinking as well as the attitude of enslaving women and nature which have formed under the that mode of thinking. And we should bear in mind that all species on earth are in a network of mutual contact, humanity are only part of the network, rather than above other species; and male's feminine closeness plays an important role in the process of realization of women's ecological self and the liberation of other species, and these two processes are as an integrated whole; The realization of ecological living state depends on co-operation between men and women; it involves both sides'efforts to be achieved.
