Tang Dynasty's Buddhist music followed with two sets of music system principles in specific used of music, it can be divided into two parts according to its performers and the function of music: The first monks Buddhism music is in the self-Buddhist spiritual, publicity doctrine, activities used in the ceremony without the accompaniment of music instruments cappella music; Yinshengren Buddhism music is Yinshenggongyang Music and Fahui music played by non-Buddhists, and its function is to Lifo and to entertain people. The two music systems applied in many ways very different music, they carrying out their duties with a clear division, and jointly building a bright dazzling Tang Dynasty Buddhist music culture.This thesis is divided into four chapters:In first chapter, the author introduced the formation and reasons for it of the two sets of Buddhist music with music systems from Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties to Tang Dynasty. Firstly, the Buddhist music has formed two sets of system are specific reasons for the analysis, pointing out Buddhism theory as a theoretical basis of the formation of two sets music system, and Yuejizhidu for the development of the two sets of music with the system put into practice provided strong support and protection; Then, the process of its formation carding done that two sets of Buddhist music system is not formed at the same time, the second music system used in a later development.In second chapter, the author introduced the genre forms of Tang Dynasty Buddhist music. Buddhist monks music mainly have Niansong, Zhuandu and Bai Zan, Sengjiang and Sujiang three types of music, these music eventually become a part of Buddhist ceremony in common. Buddhism Yinshengren music mainly have Foqu, Buddhist dance, Faqu, Buddhist opera and Sanyuebaixi genre forms.Chapter three focuses on the communications function and development trends of Tang Dynasty Buddhist music. Buddhist monks music is within the spread of the means of transmission is through the various Buddhist ceremony activities spread their music through more stringent Shicheng relationship between teaching and tradition, is a relatively closed the spread of, Its main function is self-cultivation, the missionary, and the public; Yinshengren Buddhism music spread a wider range, the main means of transmission is through the temple in the Lifo of musicians and people of various secular-oriented festival will be in entertainment law Dissemination of musicians, mostly through Yinshengren pass on, is a relatively open communication, and function of music is to Lifo and to entertain people. Then, after the late Tang Dynasty in the "Arts Monk" and made specific activities of the Buddhist Fashi the analysis, pointing out that as an opportunity to Buddhism Fashi, the two sets of music with music system gradually to a confluence of trends.Chapter four refers to relationship between Tang Dynasty Buddhist music with Gongting music and folk music.
