In the list, each item recorded orderly an eponym's name, title, and the most important events of one year. This paper covered the analysis of personal names in the Assyrian Eponym Lists. On the analyzing the grammatical structure of the names, it is given in the paper that the personal names imply the Assyrian religion, different groups of people in Assyria and other historical information.Four sections are included in the dissertation:Introduction: An introduction to Assyrian eponym lists, including its context, structure, and the researches have been done.Section One: The grammatical analysis of personal names in the Assyrian eponym lists. The personal names were collected and classified according to their grammatical structure. The further grammatical characters and the literal meaning of the names were given.Section Two: An analysis on the characters of Assyrian personal names. To discuss family name, male and female name, homonymy phenomenon revealed by personal names.Section Three: Assyrian religion indicated by the personal names. To survey the system and the developing process of Assyrian religion according to the god's name in personal names.Section Four: The different groups of people in Assyria reflected by the personal names. To study on Assyrian ethnic according to Non-Akkadian ingredients appearing in personal names.Researchers studied on the Assyrian Eponyms Lists from various angles since the texts have been discovered. The solar eclipse recorded in the lists provided an important clue to establish the absolute chronology of Assyria; historical events in the lists enriched the evidence for studying Assyrian history; geographical names and titles in the lists helped to rebuild Assyrian geography and administration.
