| The syllabus of the college English(revised edition) has put forward that the college English classes should focus not only on the language teaching but also on the culture teaching and the cross-cultural communicative competence.However,in real English classes the neglectful phenomena of culture teaching still exist because of some reasons.Based on the Dell Hymes's theory of communicative competence,D.A.Wilkins's notional syllabuses theory and the communicative approach,this thesis focuses on the cultural introduction methods in college English IR course,and on the discussion of how teachers can teach the culture knowledge consciously and efficiently during the language class.The typical text of College English(new edition) is used as an example,according to different teaching phases, some cultural introduction methods are discussed.The methods illustrate that the cultural introduction includes many teaching contents and methods,and the teaching of culture knowledge should not be limited to some cultural background introduction.This thesis uses the questionnaires' data analysis method to demonstrate that if the teacher teaches the language and the culture knowledge simultaneously,emphasizes the contrast of the different culture to a certain extent,it will no doubt contribute to stimulating the students' learning interest greatly,improve the quality and efficiency of IR course and improve the students' cross-cultural communicative competence. |
