A Study On Synonymous Coordinate Compounds Of Inscription In Southern And Northern Dynasties

The period of the Wei,Jin,and Southern and Northern Dynasties is a turning point of the evolution of Chinese language and an important chapter of the production of polysyllabic words of Chinese vocabulary.The form of synonymous,coordinate and compound words is a primary one of polysyllabic words in this period.Up till now there is no specific study on synonymous,coordinate and compound words on stone inscriptions of this period in the academic field.The study on the vocabulary of stone inscriptions which specially feature in the introduction and praise of the death is of great significance for the study on the history of Chinese language.This paper will adopt quantitative and qualitative ways to analyze synonymous,coordinate and compound words.Then it will carry out the subject,describing and analyzing from different angles.This paper will adopt exegetics and lexical semantics of the relevant theoretical research.Apart from the introduction,this paper will be divided into four parts.Firstly, it will study on new words and senses of inscriptions of the Wei,Jin,and Southern and Northern Dynasties.That is,define the new words and senses,and study on their four divisions of "general new words and senses,and new words and senses on the stone inscriptions".Then it will compare the results with the senses and examples of the words in Chinese Dictionary,to which it will make some Supplements and corrections. Secondly,it analyzes the selection and combination of synonymous morphemes of synonymous,coordinate and compound words on stone inscriptions of the Wei,Jin,and Southern and Northern Dynasties.It will analyze the factors that impact the combination of synonymous morphemes,mainly the rhythm,inner semantic relations etc.,and the types and rules of the combination of morphemes of new words and senses. Then it will describe as well as analyze the form of combination with the specific ways. Thirdly,it will analyze the relations between the meaning of the morphemes and synonymous,coordinate and compound words based on the relations of meaning,the lexical features,the word orders and so on.Finally,it will analyze the relations between the usage of special words and literature carrier of the stone inscriptions based on the genre and the culture.
