The main purpose of this article is to analyse the Teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL) situation and the teaching materials in order to help students, teachers and schools to select the appropriate teaching materials.First of all, this paper demonstrates the definition of teaching materials and the significance of this article. And the studying object is oriented in the primary teaching materials. And then give an overview of the foreign and domestic materials evaluation and sum up the basic model of teaching evaluation process. However, the primary TCFL teaching materials are different from others'. It has its own uniqueness. This article compared and analyzed the primary prevailing foreign language teaching materials, studying the differences and similarites of the teaching object, the content and the methods. Thailand students are the objects this time and we conducted a survey to study their demand or expectation on Chinese language teaching materials and teaching methods. At the same time we have used the comprehensive theory of TCFL, based on which we designed the primary evaluation of the teaching materials. Wheather the evaluation is scientific or not depend on the recognistion of the researchers. We have consulted nearly 10 experts and absorb their views and finaly determine the primary TCFL evaluation.Finally, we summed up the meaning of the TCFL evaluation index system and hope to attract more researchers on the evaluation of this teaching activities to promote the construction of the TCFL teaching materials.
