Since China has started a new term of English curriculum innovation,English teachers pay more and more attention to their teaching effect and the students' learning effect.They are eager to try new methods in the hope of enhance the teaching effeciency. It has been a key element for teaching and learning ineffeciency that the instructional message has not been delivered effectively.Based on the learning theory of constructivism,this thesis makes a research into the design of delivery strategies in English language teaching in order to provide a guideline on how to make English classes effective as well as efficient to Chinese English teacher from a the view of making efficient delivery at English classes.It is a new attempt to apply the learning theory of constructivism,the theory of communication and the theory of second language acquisition into the design of delivery strategies in English language teaching.This thesis first analyses the basic theories of instructional delivery strategies,then combines the instructional delivery strategies with the learning theory of constructivism,the theory of communication and the theory of second language acquisition,and puts forward the principles and modes for designing delivery strategies in English language teaching aimed at three different types of knowledge,four types of lanuage skills and different types of learning characteristics.
