The Experimental Study Of Expertise In Digital Memory

What is digital-memory expertise? To answer this question, this paper reviews the history of digital memory expertise research .First of all, in theory, from the perspective of cognitive psychology, the performance of digital memory experts results in a large number of exercises, automated basic skills, special encoding, strategy. It is for these to demonstrate the ability of experts more better than normals.Secondly, in the methodology, in the laboratory study of the behavior of experts must be consistent with three criteria of the validity, repeatability and scalability. Memory experts research in general is divided into seven steps, that is, select experts, understand task, analysis task, design research program, collect raw data, analysis raw data, explain the behavior of experts.Therefore, from a theoretical point of view, this study focus to answer three questions. (1) What are the type of expertise in digital memory and its manifestations? (2) What theories can explain memory experts' extraordinary performance? (3) What is the reason of why expert is more competitive than novice?In order to explore the underlying reason which expert perform more better than novise, In the methodology, base on the experimental logic, I designed four classic and innovative digital memory experiments. In this paper, memory experts Lv Chao and a group of 16 men who are all with master degree among 23 and 29 years old are selected as subjects. And the results as follows:The result is expert has remarkable memory and high performance that is in line with the skilled memory framework 's three principles (Skilled Memory Framework, Chase & Ericsson, 1981, 1982), namely, coding principle, retrival structure principle and speed-up principle. In addition, the conclusions of this study support the long-term working memory theory which the exquisite coding providing clues to make it easier for information extraction. Experts can take advantage of a wealth of images or the story, than coding the special significant material with digital logic in accordance with a certain structure processing. So, experts "specialized" is attributed to their specialized field with wealth of knowledge and awareness of the special mechanisms.
