The Chinese character multi-dimensional education for preschool children is an activity which promotes the development of the children by comparing and analyzing pictures(or real thing,real sight),old Chinese character and modern Chinese character,demonstrating the theory of the structure of Chinese character and enjoying its calligraphy art by using the multi-dimensional resources of the Chinese character,including the structural traits,the variable law,the cultural connotation and the art of character configuration.The past research indicates that there are rich resources in character;the comparison and analysis of the different forms and structures of Chinese character during development and evolution are helpful to the development of children's perception, observation,classification,reasoning and thinking;the thinking tension derived from meaningful forms of Chinese character and the teaching procedure of "ancient Chinese character—picture (object or scene)—present Chinese character—child's representation" can improve development of imagination of young children;the demonstration of the rationale of Chinese character form can enrich children's objective knowledge and experience and benefit their social development of perseverance,honesty and cooperation.In addition,it can be in favor of the transmission of the national culture.Based on it,in order to make the child get developed in imagination,knowledge and experience,observation and prosocial action,the researcher has had a character multi-dimensional education on an American child,who has great interest in Chinese culture but having handicap in social adaptability.The researcher took action,from taste and expressions in Chinese characters to cultural infiltration,from cultural infiltration to cooperative learning.And this research used qualitative method to deeply describe and report the progress of learning Chinese character.Through the interview with her parents and teachers and the analysis on her drawings and handcrafts involved in the Chinese character teaching,it is discovered that the Chinese character multi-cultural education inspired the imagination of the subject,her reflection in the process of imagination was speeded up, the space of that was broadened;her experience and knowledge became more abundant;her observation ability came to be enhanced;her prosociaI action increased,she made sense how to collaborate and help others in the process of learning.This research includes four parts.First part is the introduction which introduces the literature review,the aim,the methods,the main content and the arrangement of this research.Second part is presented the process of the Chinese character multi-dimensional education for preschool children in the action research.Third part is the analysis of influence of Chinese character multi-dimensional education on the imagination,the space,the experience and knowledge,the observation ability,the prosocial action and collaborative learning of the subject.Fourth part is the end which summarizes the teaching experience of the research process in the teacher's role with the researcher as an anticipator.Meanwhile,this part is showed the weakness of this research.
