The Phonological Study Of The Eight-Volume Version Of Shijizhuan

Shijizhuan has two versions in total:one is the generalized version(Jian version),the other one is Song version.The former version consists of eight volume,while the latter twenty volume included.In the generalized version,Zhiyin are commonly used,whereas Xieyin is widely used in Song version.So far,most of researches concern mainly on twenty-volume version,instead of eight-volume which nobody has done a thorough investigation on.It can provide some corroboration of the information which is argument for academia by researching on the phonological of eight-volume.For example,whether twenty-volume version is written by Zhu Xi and when it appears actually and so on.We have analyzed the valid 1171 phonetic notation materials,figuring out the system of initials,vowels and tones as followed:there are 23 initials,they are JianXiYi,DuanTouNi, BangPangMing,FeiWei,ZhaoChuanChongShenRi,JingQingXin,YingXiaXiao,Lai.Its characters are as follows:light-labials are separated from re-labial,the feature is obviously; FeiFuFeng,which gradually become syncretic;All-voiced initials are not voiceless,so are ChongXia;NiNiang,which gradually become syncretic;ZhiZhuangZhang,the three groups of initials gradually confluence.ChuanShan confluence,so does YingYu.There are 64 vowels,among which there is a total of 36 Yangsheng rhymes, DongDongSong,JiangJiangJiang,ZhenZhenZhen,XinYinXin,HunHunHun,HanHanHan, ShanShanJian,XianXianXian,GengGengYing,QinQinQin,TanGanKan,YanYanYan;there is a total of 24Yinsheng rhymes,ZhiZhiZhi,JiaXieGua,HuiHuiDui,YuYuYu,XiaoXiaoXiao, GeGeGe,MaMaMa,You You You.Rusheng rhymes merger to four rhymes from thirty-four, Wu Jue Mo Xie.In tone,there are four tones still,ping shang qu ru.Ping divided into Yin and Yang, moreover Shangtone of all-voiced initials become Qusheng.Rusheng rhymes are still being, they do not vanish.By comparing the two versions of eight volume and twenty-volume,they are almost the same,except the use of finals.In the version of eight volume,there are more mixtures and combinations in finals than the other version,for instance,in eight volume,XiaoShe merge into one rhyme category Xiao,but in twenty-volume it is depart to two rhyme category XiaoYao and HaoBao.eight-volume version's is rapid development of twenty-volume.In the initial and tone aspects,twenty-volume version's is behind eight-volume.Pingsheng divide to Yin and Yang.Shangtone of all-voiced initials become Qusheng.But in twenty-volume,we hardly find these phonology phenomenon.By comparing this two version,we can find eight-volume version's appear behind twenty-volume.
