is a monumental work in the history of literary criticism of ancient China.It is big in volume.Its thought is careful and its intention is extremely rich.The research of experienced from the initial edition,being with the annotation penetrates gradually into the literature theory and esthetics proposition.Now,the aspect of Liu Xie's creation and the creation psychology is concerned at the most,especially the "empty static" thought,which is an important question,unable to avoid.The research about "Empty static" mainly concentrates on Liu Xie's original thoughts,"State of mind" and "Cultivates vital energy".This article draws up to make further excavation and explaination about Liu Xie "empty static" thought that is based on the research results of the forefathers'. This article is divided into three chapters:Chapter one inquires into the origin of Liu Xie's "empty static" thought and analyzes the process of Liu Xie's "empty static" thought from pre-qin to Wei Jin.This chapter is divided into two sections.The first section researches on the empty static in various understanding and elaboration which is from Laozi,Zhuangzi,Guanzi and Xunzi in pre-qin to CaiYong,JiKang,LuJi in Han Wei Jin according to the chronological order to discover the clue of the originates ofLiu Xie's "empty static" thought.The second section analyzes the three views about the origination of Liu Xie's "empty static" thought at present educational world:the source in Lao-Zhuang theory,the source in the Confucianist theory,and the source in the Buddhist studies. At the same time this section elaborates the reasonable places and shortages of these views,then we can obtain that Liu Xie's "empty static" thought mainly comes from Lao-Zhuang,but simultaneously it does not remove the influence of the Confucianist and the Buddhist studies.Chapter two explains the connotation of Liu Xie's "empty static" thought specifically.Section one of this chapter elaborats Liu Xie's literature view of "the nature" from the Literature Noumenon existion and arises of"the nature" to the article, including the language,emotion and the rhetoric and so on,all of this wants nature.
