With the continuous development of intercultural communication, Perceived Cultural Difference theory, as one of the perspectives of intercultural communication, also absorbs many researchers'interest. The relevant theories concerning intercultural communication are raised. Furthermore, the most basic reason by which intercultural communication appears is that the differences of world view, values, thought process, customs, expectations, communicator style, verbal behavior, and nonverbal communication. These perceived cultural differences are throughout the thesis. More importantly, intercultural communication model is put forward which not only expands the definition of intercultural communication, but also describes the causes of intercultural communicative anxiety. Besides, Perceived Cultural Difference model plays an important role in eliminating cultural anxiety and uncertainty. As the basis of intercultural communication, third Culture is adaptive, which calls for the participants to suspend their judgment and bias while they engage in a third culture created by the intercultural participants to explore mutual goals and common concerns.First, the paper generalizes the basic concepts and theories of the intercultural communication and culture. Second, I raised the Perceived Cultural Difference model and the theory of third Culture. At last, I applied the model and the theory to spoken English education and get the research findings.Based on the above theories and investigation, teachers should consciously teach background knowledge concerning the culture in English teaching activities, cultivate communicative consciousness, and make students know the differences between English culture and Chinese culture by gradually introducing background western cultural knowledge in order to avoid misusage.According to above opinions, from the perspective of intercultural communication and by the means of analysis, discussion, and interview, the paper discusses from the relation between intercultural communication to the application of Perceived Cultural Difference model and third Culture to cultivate consciousness of intercultural communication.
