Mr. Li Yuqiu, a well-known composer in our country during 20th-century, who had committed to Chinese accordion music for a long time, successfully created a series of accordion works including "Long March Suite", "Hui Shan Clay Figurines Impression", and finally promoted this western instrument accordion's deep rooting in Chinese land. He drew the techniques from the modern western composition, and integrated them with Chinese traditional and national culture,the combination attached his works a strong ethnic style, fresh flavor of time and distinct personality. Li Yuqiu absolutely deserves to be named as a crucial figure in accordion history of our country, one of his creation "Hui Shan Clay Figurines Impression"even pushed the localization of accordion music in China to a climax. This suite contains four parts, namely: "Six Boys joking with Mito", "Fairy Spreading Flowers", "A Fu", "Facial Makeup in Peking Opera".In a pragmatic manner, applying the research methods of "holistic approach" and "deep cut point by point", this paper studied Li Yuqiu's "Hui Shan Clay Figurines Impression", and be focused on "Fairy Spreading Flowers" and "Facial Makeup in Peking Opera", the paper also carried out in-depth, detailed analysis of the two representative works in terms of musical skills and creation. Through the above research, the paper aimed to explore and demonstrate Li Yuqiu's important contribution to the development of accordion music in China, as well as the landmark status of "Hui Shan Clay Figurines Impression" during his creation life of accordion music.
