| Archaeology is closely associated with fine Art, the research according to fine art has been also defined as"art archaeological"or even become a new interdisciplinary branch of archaeologists. Buddhist temple caves are concentrated on religion arts and also the representation of religion art. To research Buddhist grotto temple not only the archaeological study of the mission but also the task of art history. Archaeological report is an essential tool for the formation of Archaeological research materials. The method of measuring and drawing is an important part of the three method to recording the archaeological materials. So the archaeological map replace the real object becomes the important vision material of studying Buddhism art history. Therefore the map of survey and drawing in archeology exist one problem, for if it can reproduction the fine Arts'specific image ,styles, artistic attainments and time characteristics. It has been put forward higher requirements for mapping Cave Temple. It has both operational scientific standards, and also aspects of the art graphics standards, but parts of the past mapping difficult to simultaneously achieve satisfactory results. The author wants to discuss these problems from the view of art history and the relationship between the science and art of the map of survey and drawing in grotto temple archaeology, to explore the value of this graphical representation as map of survey and drawing in archeology. The author want to clarify the problems arising from combining scientific and artistic aspects of map of survey and drawing in archeology, and specified the important role of art modeling capability and the artistic image of the right perception and judgments during the combination of scientific and artistic. Moreover, the author worked in a archaeology institute for mapping of survey and drawing many years, and now studying the postgraduate at Xian Fine Art University, the special experience of work and study makes the author have the thought of writing this topic, one reason is to solve some problems puzzled in work for many years, another is to sum up the work and study so far. |
