| Fallacy is a topic that can not be evaded in our daily life, and also is an enduring explore in the academic community. So it is significant to know what fallacy is, how to judge fallacies and how to avoid fallacies, and both for the development of academic and our daily life.Walton published the "Theory of Pragmatic fallacy" in 1995; he made a detailed demonstrate about redefining fallacy, how to judge fallacies and how to avoid fallacies in this book, and he expressed some of his own unique insights in many ways. In addition, one bright spot is that he introduced how to put his fallacy theory into practice in details. Therefore, it is important to do some analysis and study about this book both in logic and practicality.Given that there is few introduce of Walton's fallacy theory in our country, this paper introduces this partialness fallacy theory by detailed analysis.There are three chapters in this paper.Chapterâ… is the introduction,in which the author explains the background of Walton's fallacy, which is the theoretical basis of his theory.Chapterâ…¡mainly introduces Walton's Pragmatic Theory of Fallacy from the definition of fallacy, basic features, as well as how to analyze and where to start.As the most important part of this paper,Chapterâ…¢focus on the cases occurring in the daily life such as ad hominem, ad baculum, point out that why it's called the fallacy, and introduces a more practical way to identify the fallacy.
