Media Function Of Image Figure

21^st century witnesses an unprecedented era------the era of digital image. The designof digital image in the opening ceremony of 2008 Olympic Game and that in the 2009 Spring Festival party present us delightful changes, which achieves perfect visual artistic effect. The advance of modern technology sets the artistic creation of digital image free; abundant forms as well as the media function of image figure stimulate the evolution of traditional painting, opening more room for the development of painting art, which gives rise to a new language. This thesis starts with the media, style and way of expression in the contemporary art of painting both at home and abroad, and probes into the application of image figure, as a kind of media, in the art of painting; and discusses the conception of image figure in the painting art as well as the visual language study; the thesis tries to have a full view of the future development of image figure in the painting art especially in the era of digital technology. The language of painting, with its unique charm, is an important means of the artistic creation; with the transformation of the age and the ideas, image figure serves as a good supplement and aid of the creation of comprehensive painting, making the artists attach more importance to the expression of new ideas and personality. The experiment and study of the image figure in painting further enrich the language of painting and present the imagination and ideas of the comprehensive painting directly! From the day of its birth, comprehensive painting has never stopped drawing new ideas from other means of creation, while image figure brings new visual experience and style to the comprehensive painting. The processing function of computer pushes the development of comprehensive painting to a new stage, and explores the method and effect in painting practice. Meanwhile, in the process of choosing and applying of the materials, the image figure can be considered as the content of the creation. The image figure in painting can help the artists exploit more room for innovative thinking and imagination, what's more, provide more brand new options for the diversified development of comprehensive painting and free development of the individuals. This thesis not only discusses the necessity of the development of image figure in the artistic creation of contemporary art, but also focuses on the study of how to choose and innovatively apply the material as well as the visual choice and emotion transference in the process of comprehensive painting; taking the author's personal painting experience and creation, this thesis successfully proves the research value of media function of image figure in the process of painting, so as to shed some new light in this field of painting, both in theory and practice.
