Analysis And Strategy Research On Fossilization Of College English Teacher's Classroom Teaching Language

It's universally acknowledged that language fossilization has become a big obstacle for L2 learners to be very successful in their language learning or acquisition. That's the very case with the Chinese learners of English. Some learners may stop learning or find it hard to make progress once they reach a certain level, and cannot use the second language as flexibly as the native speaker. So the mainly discussed issue in academic circle is to explore the phenomenon of fossilization and to find out appropriate measures.Students are the center of college English classroom; teachers are just organizers who play the leading role. While college English teachers' teaching language is the carrier to bear knowledge and control the whole class. Therefore, it is significant to research into fossilization of college English teachers' classroom teaching language.The author consults a large number of reference materials on the same subjects and elaborates systematically the current situation and the direction of the development of interlanguage theory, analyzes different college English teachers at different levels and puts forward the main topic in this thesis-fossilization of college English teachers' classroom teaching language. Then the author reveals the origin, characteristics and influences of college English teachers' fossilization in their classroom teaching language through a deal of concrete evidence. At last the author proposes some personal strategies to overcome fossilization in order to improve the quality of college English teacher and promote the development of college foreign language teaching.
