With the new round English teaching reform, methods on English teaching become more and more important. How to improve students'integrating skills under the new learning ground and media? How to carry out the new course under the new teaching theories? How to train students'skills of autonomic learning…All these problems need to be solved. Facing the opportunities and challenges offered by globalization, especially in the computer network and multimedia environment, we really have to think about such a question, that is, how to change the traditional teacher-oriented teaching and learning rules into the new innovative ones clearly. In a word,in the process of finishing the tasks, the interaction between teachers and students will not lead to emotion of"negative learning"caused by facing the cold machine in the long term. Therefore, the advantage of the modern teaching facility can be shown entirely in assisting the English learning. The thesis discussed about the practical way of combining the Task-based Approach with the internet-assisted multimedia to teach the college English more effectively and appropriately. In addition, it could enhance the language learners to study English more effectively. Through the questionnaire of the students in the fourth year undertaking the Bachelor-Master degree and the comparison and analysis of the English scores in the the middle of the term and the final scores of the first semester of the 2008-2009 academic year of the freshmen on the two campuses which apply the different teaching method, the thesis got the conclusion that the students could get better environment to do autonomy study and make good use of what they have learnt. The thesis finally reveals some implications for effective application of CALL in the Chinese context and points out some limitations of this study.
