This thesis analyzes three translated versions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which are respectively the official Chinese version, one Internet Chinese version and one German version, from the perspective of deconstructive translation approach. In the first part, the purpose of making this paper has been proposed. What is more, this paper makes a comprehensive and detailed summary and analysis of both the literary review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and of the works about Deconstructive Translation. Based on an introduction to Deconstructive Translation and both the original work and the three translated works of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the thesis tries to comment on the three translated versions by applying the deconstructive translation approach. The thesis employs a theory of macroscopical language theory from deconstructive translation proposed by Derrida. In the part of analysis of the three translated versions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the author tries to make a sufficient comparison between the original version and the translated versions concentrating on complex sentences and synonyms in view of macroscopical language. Through comparison, both the merits demerits have been summarized. Not only the concept of Deconstructive Translation has been introduced in the thesis, but also its criterion of judging translated works. The criterion is relevant translation, according to which the receiving language should be the most relevant equivalent for an original, that is, the language should be the most appropriate, pertinent, adequate, opportune, pointed, univocal, and idiomatic. After the detailed analysis of the three translated works, a conclusion has been made that the work of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows might be retranslated by the fans or translators who are not satisfied with the ones which have been published. Besides it is certain that there would be other works to analyze more works of the Harry Potter series and other versions might be involved.
