Objective: To develop a Chinese translation of the Mood and Anxiety Symptoms Questionnaire-Short Form (MASQ-SF) and evaluate the reliability and the validity.Method: The original version of the Mood and Anxiety Symptoms Questionnaire (MASQ-SF) was translated into Chinese and administered to 712 Chinese students between the ages of 17 and 23. Mean and standard deviations of the MASQ-SF total scale and subscales. Additionally, internal consistency, test-retest reliability and factorial validity were analyzed. Results: The Cronbach's a coefficient of the MASQ-SF was 0.94 ; The test - retest reliability coefficient was 0.82 ; The mean interitem correlation coefficients ranged from 0.24 to 0.45 , The correlation coefficients among the four factors ranged from 0129 to 0154 ; The NFI(0.90),CFI (0.90),GFI (0.92),REMEA (0.063), all met the criteria standards for adequacy of fit. Conclusion: As the Chinese translation of the MASQ-SF indicated high levels of reliability and validity, the MASQ-SF is appropriate for assessing anxiety and depression in Chinese university students.
