The Analysis Of Umberto Eco's Semiotic Aesthetics

Umberto Eco is one of respresentative characters of western semiology in the half of 20th century.His semiotics theory-"a logic of culture"on the foundation of European continental semiology,represented by Saussure,while combining with British-American's semiology,repesented by Pierce ,have widely used in literature,movies,architecture and so on,where he brings brilliant achievements.The research of semiotic theory and its analysis of different fields comprise Eco's semiotic aesthstics ideology.We should try our best to use the widest field of vision to the quest for Eco's ideology,therefore,this research paper intends to analyse Eco's semiology aesthetics ideology from five parts,after discussing the study of Eco's semiotic and its importance in the introdution part.As following:The first part:the formation of Eco's semiotic aesthetics.This part gose to Eco's life course and author's writing in a chronological order.Eco's learning career is divided into three stages, and is combed in a detailed way, in order to show the inherent evolution logic of his thought objectively.At the same time,we should pay attention to the theoretical origins of Eco's theory in order to reveal the total scene of it.The second part:"Toward a logic of culture".This part focuses on analysing Eco's general semiotic theory,which converges in his two semiotics works, and .In this part, his main semiotics conception wiill be discussed.The third part:Eco's literary semiotic theory.Eco concerns at the literary,focusing the text,reader,author and interpretation.They are a new study by semiotics theory.These contents will placed with semiology vision,showing Eco's literary semiotic theory which also construct an important dimension of Eco's semiotic aesthstics ideology.The forth part:Eco's semiotic analysis of mataphor and symbol.This part mainly analyses the two of the most important concepts in literary semiotic theory with semiotic analysis in order to show the semiotic meanings of Eco's metaphor and symbol.The fifth part: the practice of Eco's semiotic aesthstics ideology.Eco doesn't satisfies the research of semiotic theory,he also practise the semiotic actively. Eco's semiology aesthstics ideology applies to movie, architecture and so on,while practising for the theory to write novels.Therefore, this part will pay attention to the practice of Eco's semiotic aesthstics ideology。The last part in the paper is conclusion.
