The Relationship Between Loneliness, Intergenerational Social Support And Filial Expectation Among The Elderly Of Changsha City

Objective:To understand the situation and distribution of loneliless among the elderly,and explore the relationship between loneliness,filial expectations and intergenerational social support among the elderly.Methods:We selected the subjects through a multistage cluster sampling procedure and distilled four community from the Changsha City.UCLA loneliness scale,Socio-demographic Characteristics, Parents-Adult Children Social Support Scale,the Elderly'Filial Expectation Questionnaire,and SF-36 Health Investigation Scale were administered to 423 participants from cities and countryside aged 60～94 years old.Results:The average score of loneliless among the elderly in the Changsha city is 40.13±8.6.The Cronbachs' coefficients alph of Parents Received Adult Children Social Support Scale is 0.906.The result of confirmatory factor analyses provided,X~2/df=2.450,CFI=0.812,TLI= 0.902,RMSEA=0.056,The Cronbachs' coefficients alph of Parents Afforded Adult Children Social Support Scale is 0.905.The result of confirmatory factor analyses provided,X~2/df=2.918,CFI=0.865, TLI=0.842,RMSEA=0.043.The results of the multi-regression model confirm,fewer time of education(OR=2.824,OR 95%CI:1.840～3.807,solitary(OR=4.442,OR 95%CI:3.199～5.684),more participated group activity(OR=0.51,OR 95%CI:-0.291～0.98),higher level of family income(OR=0.346, OR95%CI:-0.465～1.487),neighbor concern(OR=0.388,OR95%CI: -0.414～1.190),low filial expectation(OR=1.964.OR 95%CI:1.398～2.530),low received adult children social support(OR=3.466,OR 95%C I:1.662～2.830),low afforded adult children social support(OR=2.568, OR 95%CI:1.999～3.136),low energy(OR=4.229,OR 95%CI:3.578～4.884),low psychical health(OR=2.246,OR 95%CI:2.856～4.076) are the mainly factor of loneliless among the elderly in Changsha city.Filial expectation directly affect loneliness and indirectly affect loneliness through received adult children social support and afforded adult children social support.The average score of loneliless among the elderly in the Changsha city is higher.Loneliless among the elderly was affected multiple factors. The guidance of psychological health about loneliless among the elderly in the Changsha city should be strengthened.
