A Study On The Comparison Between Chinese And Japanese Traditional Music Structure Terminology

Musical stuctural terms are an important part in musical terms.Beginning with musical stuctural terms in Chinese and japanese tradition, this thesis puts them inorder with study and analysis on some specific ones especially its meanings in these two differentcountries. In addition, I do some comparisons between court music in Tang Dynasty and those thatspreaded to Japan. Finally, I summerize and arrange the gagaku repertoire in order to find out thedifferences between them and analyse the reason for their change.The purpose of this thesis is to sort out the differences between terms that has the same or closemeaning in both countries and explain their change making use of distinguishing figures.
