A Study Of Social Support And Sense Of Control On The Relationship Between Stressor And Stress Reaction In College Students

The paper explores social support and sense of control on relationship between source of stress and stress reaction in college students.917 students from six universities in Nanchang were invited to attend the investigation .1200 questionnaires were sent and 917 valid questionnaires were received .the questionnaires were statistically analyzed and the following results are concluded:Gender difference in stress scores on college students does not exist significant differences, but at the source of stress in various dimensions had a significant difference , such as study on stress, job stress, economic stress and interpersonal stress. The rural college students'scores in study stress , job stress and total stress is higher significantly than the urban . The difference between science&engineering and literature&history students was significant on study stress, job stress,economical stress ,interpersonal stress and total stress score .The stress source of different grade in all dimensions had a significant difference.There was a significant difference between male and female in learning-ability declining, negative mood and stress reaction. The difference between the urban and the rural in learning-ability declining , suicide tendency and stress reaction is significant. The difference between science/engineering physical discomfort, suicide tendency and total stress reaction .Except physical discomfort, suicidal tendencies and stress reaction scores, other dimensions do not exist significant differences.Social support does not have a direct effect stress reaction , but it has a moderating role in the relationship between stressor and stress reaction ; The sense of control has a direct effect on stress reaction , furthermore , it moderates and mediates the relationship between stressor and stress reaction .
