The Study On The Feminine Description Words And Expressions In "Jing Hua Yuan"

The thesis takes the feminine description words and expressions in "JingHuaYuan" as the object of study, tries to provide a definition and classification to it. By combining with Language vocabulary and culture, the thesis discusses the social cultural and ideology which behind the feminine description words and expressions.The novels in Ming and Qing Dynasty are important corpus of modern chinese language's study, "JingHuaYuan" is a long masterpiece which focuses on the description of women, following the "Dream of Red Mansions" in the Qing Dynasty, but academia has not given its due attention. Especially, the study from the perspective of linguistics is little every much. According to incomplete statistics, at present there are six thematic papers on "JingHuaYuan" from the perspective of linguistics, and no one has ever done the study on the feminine description words and expressions in "JingHuaYuan". About the monographic study on the single-sex for special study books, now there are only "Shuihu zhuan the masculine description words and expression study" (Xing Liang, Southwest University,2008) and "Red Mansion Dream the feminine description words and expressions study" (Wang Xiaoyang, Southwestern University,2009). Therefore The study on the feminine description words and expressions in "JingHuaYuan" has greater significance.We define the feminine description words and expressions as the words and expressions which express feminine characteristic and have the obvious female angle individuality tendency and which is think by average person traditionally. The so-called "feminine" refers to the typical female performance, and is not customary to show in men. Some words and expressions can be used for men, but not the men's typical performance, such as "pick tea-leaves","deflowers and snap off grass". The so-called "female angle individuality tendency" refers to the words and expressions which is there not any obvious gender tendency, but is used in the context of the performance of a specific personality traits of women. Such as "straightforward", "intelligent", "get to the bottom of an affair" and so on. According to the difference of subject significance, we divide the feminine description words and expressions into four types:appellations, the character appraise class the appearance and clothing class and the movement class, we altogether collected a total of 1048 the feminine description words and expressions.First of all, according to the emotion, we give classification of appellations and explanation of some dialect words, then analyze the cultural connotation of some groups of appellations reflected. Secondly, we give classification of appearance description by analyzing them, the part studies the aesthetic requirements on women at that time. Furthermore, through analyzing the category of clothing, we can find a number of aesthetic changes in aesthetic of Han literati class of ordinary in the process of Manchu blend in the late Qing period. For the category of articles words for man, the main character is to investigate the ethics and the role of female, also to discover the attitude to female talent in the context of the prevailing social and cultural. The same time, we compared with one of Western literature named "Pride and Prejudice" during the same period to find the difference in the concept of female education between the Eastern and Western culture. By analyzing the action words for female. We can summarized the basic behavior of female which reflect the ethical requirements to female in traditional ethics.
