The 9-11 Event is a shock to the western countries and even in the world. It brings the terms terrorism and violence to the people in the world. However, we find surprisingly that in the novels by Don Delillo, this scene seems to have already been described. This thesis analyzes many aspects of violence embodied in these three novels by Don Delillo, The Names, Libra and White Noise. It aims to discuss the connection between violence and culture, violence and society, violence and politics. We can feel in those novels that misunderstanding of culture and misleading by public media can cause people to use violence sometimes. Violence has its special audience who applause and fight for it, give consistent supports to it, for example the violence between governments, like war, anti-governments, like revolt and conflict, and also terrorism. Besides, the thesis will study the reason and motivation of individual violence, such as sex, hatred and psychological factors. Finally comes a conclusion that violence has a deep social and cultural root in a state or a society. It has close connection with the age, national circumstance and political and economic policies. These three novels The Names, Libra and White Noise can reflect aspects of violence respectively. From the analysis we can see the violence value and violence view of Dellilo, and what he wants to express through the three novels.
