The study of Mandarin Chinese is blooming with the incredible growth of China's economy. In both non-Chinese areas and overseas Chinese societies the Chinese-learning trends reflect this. In respect to overseas Chinese students, we would like to design a set of learning material for them, one that takes into consideration not only the language-learning component, but also the necessity to learn about various aspects of Chinese culture. Creating learning material that has an ideal balance of the two is the general focus of this paper. This paper will juxtapose the textbooks Zhongwen and Children Chinese Reader when comparing editors'key concepts, teaching methods, and analyze the vocabulary and word ranking by the Chinese Teaching Assistant (TA) software. This valuable software was used to evaluate the level of difficulty of vocabulary word and generate helpful statistics. Beyond this, interviews with students were conducted to gain a greater understanding of their needs and attitudes when constructing a well-designed Chinese textbook. Through comparison on various levels, the objective of this paper is to see the different arrangement in China and Taiwan's textbook of Chinese culture and language.
