Christianity was introduced into China from the Tang Dynasty. At the same time, the activities of Christian missionaries in China has been a thousand years. Although its transmission had been interrupted, eventually, it has its own place in China. Missionaries'activities in China had certain influence on the Chinese society, so that Chinese were open to the horizon and increase their knowledge.Since the Opium War, a large number of missionaries came to China, some of them came to preach the northwest region in China. They attempted to spread Christianity in a wider scope to expand the influence of Christianity.During the process of preaching northwest region, missionaries found that the development of culture and education was a powerful tool for missionary purpose. Therefore, they founded numbers of ecclesiastical schools, and provided favorable conditions for the children of ordinary people to go to the ecclesiastical schools, so that they could develop Christian undertaking.Although missionaries'activities of culture and education is to develop Christian undertaking subjectively, but for northwest region, which was behind of the eastern region in economy and culture, they did had a positive impact.Missionaries'activities of establishing ecclesiastical schools,monasteries,researching minority culture, played an important role of raising the level of education,and also contributed to promote social progress in the northwest region.
