As the world "shrinks" into a "global village" with the convenience of the Internet and the growth of foreign travel for leisure and business, the problems of international communication intrude upon our every waking moment. In such a case, people become more and more aware of the importance of international communication, which results in a hot study on it.Tourism has become one of the newly developed industries in the world and influenced culture as well as economy. So tourism creates the desperate need of smooth communication between people of various cultural backgrounds. Intercultural communication plays a vital role in tourism service. Learners of English For Tourism have to have the international-cultural awareness while learning guiding the tour. This paper attempts to develop students intercultural communicative competence on the basis of English For Tourism course. Through the analysis of the relationship between language and culture, by combining the importance of successful intercultural communication in English for tourism the author has come to the conclusion that we should integrate culture teaching into language teaching and attach great importance to the development of students'intercultural communicative competence. At the end of the paper, the author proposes some effective methods to improve students'intercultural communicative competence through learning the course English For Tourism in practice.
