There are many precious literature in Uighur history, many of which record on water, while the cultural development of water to analyze the Uighurs'understanding of the concept of water, did not come out thematic research. Part of drought, lack of water, but the minority culture of water, especially the Uighur culture of water is more important. These results converge with real life, past serve the present purpose can be achieved. Therefore, the research on Uighur cultural development of ancient and modern water, hasing certain academic and practical significance.In this paper, I used methods of ecological anthropology,cultural linguistics, during the comparison analysis and the Cultural heritage overview. Paper is divided into seven chapters. This article used the Uighurs'concept of water as a clue, through the Uighur ancestors'understanding of water from the documents of stone tablet, the Uighurs desiring for water from yada"Witchcraft of Praying for Rain", the Uighurs'using of water from Culture of Kaner, the Uighur cultural heritaging of water from Uighurs customs and taboos on water, and the emboding of morden Uighurs'water culture in proverbs about water, explored it. Through analyzing the Uighurs understanding of the concept of water, find the process of development of water in Uighur history, to achieve the purpose which integrating the analyzing of water culture and the pratice of water.Innovations in four aspects, first, in this paper I analyzed the development of the Uighur culture about water from diachronic perspective, distinguished clearly the changes in Uighurs' concept of water. Second, through the inscription literature about water analyzed the Uighur ancestors' awareness of water. Third, through Karez's name and the using of flood dam analyzed the Uighurs using of water. Fourth, water related proverbs reflect the rich cultural connotation of water.
