There is no doubt that motivation plays an important role in foreign language learning. As a result, it becomes worthwhile to investigate the teachers'motivational strategies further. The present study focuses on how to stimulate college students'motivation in the oral English classes. Based on some relevant motivation theories and Zoltán D?rnyei's motivational strategies, the author designs a questionnaire and makes an investigation among college students. Classroom observation is also carried out as a supplement. According to the results of these researches, the motivation-stimulating strategies are summarized into three helpful clusters: environment-providing strategies, goal-oriented strategies and value-enhancing strategies. Furthermore, the most effective strategies and clusters are found out. All of them are of great importance in the oral English classroom teaching. This study provides good reference for the teachers to stimulate their students'learning motivation in the college oral English classes.
