Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941), was a famous Polish pianist, composer and politician at the end of 19th century and the early 20th century. Both in musical creation and piano technique, Paderewski played an active role in promoting the Polish music and the world music development, which made him the other successful musician standing on the international stage after Chopin. The composer organically combines classical genre with modern composition techniques in this work and adds superb piano playing skills to endue the minuet with unique characteristics.Minuet in G Major,Op.14 is one of the most representative works of Paderewski, so the author made this piece of work as an entry point to explore Paderewski's music style. The minuet maintains simple and graceful styles, absorbs the late romantic creative ideas, so that the entire musical pieces keep the essence of traditional art heritage, but also reflects the innovation of his contemporary music style. Due to the unique artistic charm, Minuet in G Major has become the classics in the world Minuet works, and it has been in the favor of people all over the world.The article is consisted of three parts:the introduction, main body and the conclusion. Introduction describes the significance of this research, situation of the study and research methodologies. The main body is divided into four chapters. The first chapter describes the personal experiences of Paderewski, and discusses the creation background of Minuet in G Major in detail from the social and personal aspects. Chapter Two inquiries the development of minuet and analyzes the structure of music, which makes preparation for Chapter Three. Through discussing the creative feature of the minuet and the style of music, Chapter Three tries to explore the superbly composing skill of Paderewski. In the basic of reading his own view on Tempo rubato, Chapter 4 makes Minuet in G Major an example to examine the composer's performance style documented the experience of my own playing.Finally, the concluding chapter summarizes the major viewpoints of this thesis. By analyzing and studying Paderewski's Minuet in G major, we can try to find out the particular conception of him, and unscramble the meaning of the works from the background of the composer, in order to enhance the analysis and understanding of Paderewski's works, to master his creative concept and unique playing style, and to deepen our understanding of the Polish music even the world music.
