On ChenRan's Personalized Literary Writing

"Body Narrative"is a unique landscape in women's literary writing at the end of 20th century. Influenced by western feminist theory, Chen's writing is on pure female experience. Particularly infuenced by the French writer Elena ? Cixous's body narrative theory, her works demostrate the esthete on female body by which indicates the physical awakening of females. From the view of"female body", this essay analyzed and interpreted Chen's unique writing style and narration. Begining with backgrounds of Chen's novel, this paper combed her understanding on"personlized"literary writing, and revealed that there is"non-personalized"factors in her"personalized"literary writing.The first section, women's body. During the period for May Fourth Movement, Western democratic ideas and humanity come to the eastern countries. Since then people began concerning more about human rights. At the same time, women start to be exposed in the history. After the National Liberation War and the Cultural Revolution movement, women writers in the new era still move on in hard environment. In 1990s Chen Ran, Lin Bai and some other women writers'awareness of women gradually aroused. Influenced by the western feminist theory, their works objectively express female physical feelings and lusts. The core section of Chen's novels is on female sex and the experience of lust. This kind of lust is the source of all women's experience. The second section, personalized writing.From the "Campus Literature" in mid-eighties, to the "town of Literature" the end of the time, to the "in house" series in nineties, Chen creates a series of distinctive, unique image of women as well as those with self-expression and artistic modernism. Against the historical background is always her writing attitude, the individual's living condition and the spiritual experience is her consistent literary creation theme. Based on an analysis of a series of works by Chen and the pain and tactile presentation, this essay clearly outlines a rough line from the immature to mature women natural physiological and psychological context. Meanwhile, The most real thing permeates in each of Chen's novel is that her attitude toward life and psychological state is commonly with the certain stage life.The third section, probing existence awarenessIn Chen's literary creation, female modern consciousness transforms into a sense of awareness and survival awareness. Based on an analysis of a series of works by Chen indicates the female distress that nowhere for the soul to rest, nothing for emotional sustenance, the instablity for the body to secure, pointing out that this mind wandering of the individual in modern life is a dilemma plagues mankind as a whole. Chen's literary creative expression is the persistent growth of the female rebellion against the reality of human nature, speculation on humanity, the relentless pursuit of the spiritual home, rebuffed everywhere, and retreat after get scarred.In short, under the historical background, the stubborn writer did not yield or stop, but timely withdraw after staring. By whipping her soul, repeatedly asking herself, she is trying to bridge between force of human nature and the existing living condition, and pursuing a strategy to solve individual's plight on survival of humanity versus reality.
