Metrical Study On The Pronoun Of ErNvYingXiongZhuan

ErNvYingXiongZhuan,written by a Manchu called WenKang and published in the mid Qing Dynasty, is a nihuaben novel with each chapter headed by a couplet giving the gist of its content. The language of the novel is baihua and reflects the general picture of Beijing dialect in the mid Qing Dynasty, so it has got the fame of"excellent textbook of Beijing dialect". It becomes an important corpus in the study of Chinese language in the Qing Dynasty.The achievements in the study of ErNvYingXiongZhuan seldom involve pronoun, and the reseach lacks system analysis, so it is necessary to make a system analysis of pronoun in the novel.According to the function, this paper divided 153 pronouns into three parts: personal pronoun,demonstrative pronoun,and interrogative pronoun, and they further subdivided into smaller parts separately. The methods of the study in the article include the exhausted statistics, the historical outline and the inductional description. Thes methods collect the quantity and frequency of every pronoun, display the origin and development by historical outline, and show the syntactic function and semantic function by synchronouns description,which fully display the general appearance of pronoun system of ErNvYingXiongZhuan.
