The Adherence To The Thoughts Of "Confucianism And Legalism " In Cao Cao's Article And Initial Study On The Writing Skills

Cao Cao was an outstanding statesman, military strategist, litterateur and poet in Eastern Han Dynasty. In the area of politics , he was the real ruler of late Han Dynasty early Wei; In the area of literature, he was the founder of literature in the jian'an period also, and created the Literary Styles of jian'an. Because of his special status, in his works, there are still a great deal of the documents, in addition to the popular chinese ancient poems. His articles are dapper , for the previous articles ,there are inheritance as well as developing .In view of this situation, this thesis will take the documens of Cao Cao as the object of study, and will attempt to redefine the characteristics of Cao Cao's articles, by way of analying deeply the ideal characteristics, technique of writing and the content of the article.This thesis consists of text and epilogue,the text divide into three sections according to logic.In the introduction, we mainly illuminate the purpose and significance of this study. first of all, Cao Cao's life was introduced. From this, we can learn about that Cao Cao was different from ordinary people with talent and courage. Meanwhile, there is a brief summary as regards evolution of the article in this chapter. Based on the combination of the two, we consider that Cao Cao played an important role on the conscientious era of article.Chapter two: Ideological characteristics of Cao Cao's article. In this chapter, the author believe that, in Cao Cao's system of thought, Confucianism and Legalism occupy an important position. In his documents, Confucianism and Legalism was thoroughly reflected almost everywhere. In terms of Confucianism, the author carries out an analysis of"benevolence"and"not benevolence","propriety"and"not propriety"in Cao Cao's articles, and specifically discusses the different standards of "benevolence" and "propriety" which aims to different people. In terms of Legalism, he adepted at the road legal trickery, the author consider that Cao Cao advocated"worship the law"and"emphasis on trickery". Cao Cao exercised power based on laws, he could abide by the laws, make laws, and amend the laws in according with different situations. But Cao Cao had broken the law or violated a law sometimes, which reflected different levels of importance on law about Cao Cao. On the other hand, he was good at using trickery, he could always find a combination of point that was needed both of Cao Cao and others, with the purpose of meet others and also meet him own. His personnel policy. were reflected in his documents. In times of peace, moral is important for enlightenment; in times of war, personal qualities become the most important for social stability. It is the symbol that Cao Cao had the ability to employ different strategies according to different period.Chapter three: writing technique of Cao Cao's article. Cao Cao had a pragmatic, flexible style in his lifetime, which were reflected in the article also. His articles are dapper, however, it applies to superior to subordinate documents. so as to be understood quickly and accurately. Similarly, there are several complicated documents, which according to actual needs. In addition, the author dwells on choice of words in his documents , Such as a name he called himself changes according to distinct people. Cao Cao's articles as a whole are characterized by refreshing simplicity, have some connection with not only with his political position, but also with his character. His style of writing have great impacts on innovation of the article in future generations.Chapter four: Conclusion .If you want to understand the article of Cao Cao,you had better read human nature, history and so on. Cao Cao was the controversial historical figure, there was a pragmatic, flexible style on him. Perhaps, it was such a personality that Cao Cao had received as much criticism as praise. however, on the style of writing ,the flexible style could add smart and vitality to articles.
