| As the the increasingly important role of modern technique on research, more and more people pay close attention to use the experimental method to analyze the the sound phenomenon,,such as the tone research in Chinese dialect.For this reason,This paper explore the mono-syllable tone and bi-sylable tone of Baihua in Guangxi Beihai urban area from the viewpoint of experimental method.Both the experimental result and the fieldwork survey on my own show that there are overall eight tones existing in Beihai baihua dialect ,which are Yinping阴平,Yangping阳平,Shangsheng上声,Yinqu阴去,Yangqu阳去,Shangyinru上阴入,Xiayinru下阴入and Yangru阳入,and from which we can easily find out that the Beihai Baihua have integrally reserved the to Rusheng tone, and Some of the ancient zhuoshang tone have merged into the Yangqu while some merged into Shangsheng tone .In the meanwhile the pitch value of these tones are Yingping45,Yangping21,Shangsheng24,Yinqu33,Yangqu31,,Shangyinru55,Xiayinru44 and Yangru22 respectively.In addition to that ,the experimental results indicate that the tone patern of bi-syllabe does not a change apparently, however owing to the influence of coarticalatio by the syllables before or after ,there is still something changed in the value of tone pitch such as rising for the whole pitch range or lower for the section of starting point, or the growth that cannot reach the culminating point as the mono-syllable tone. Moreover there contain native methods,generalized methods or coordinated methods in the tone parten of bi-syllables .And there are totally 64 groups in bi-syllable tones, but after tone sandhi only remaining 60 groups at all in the reason of mergering for the other 4 groups. Specifically, most of the former tone in bi-syllables do not be modified(except for Yangqu and Yinqu) while the latter one normally can be modified .Comparing with the fieldwork survey merely ,we can find that what the main differences for the tone in Beihai Baihua through the experimental research:for example the study by Huangyuhong(1997) showed that the tones of shangsheng and qusheng in Baihua dialect did not be divided to be more detail.Some of the tone zhuoshang浊上and all of the tone zhuoqu浊去in ancient time have been merged into the tone Yangping as the evolution of the sound,while some of the ancient tone zhuoshang and all the tone Qingshang have been merged into the tone Shangsheng by the some reason.Besides that, the research by Chenxiaojing and Chentao (2005) was that tones of Ping\Shang\Qu have been splitd into registers. However the Experimental results show that Pingsheng and Qusheng have been splitd into registers indeed while Shangsheng does not. and some of ancient tone zhuoshang have been merged into Yangqu in the meanwhile some merged into Shangsheng. In the other hand, for the difference in the tone-pattern,the results by Huangyuhong(1997),Chenxiaojing and Chentao (2005) are all that Yinping is the level contour, but what we have found by the experiment was that it is a high rise contour actually. and The Yangqu is a low level contour in Chenxiaojing and Chentao (2005) while that is a middle fall contour by the Experimental result.Through experiment we alse can get the duration value both of mono-syllable and bi-syllable. for the mono-syllable ,the sequency of the the duration is that: Shangsheng=Yinqu>Yinping=Yangqu>Yangping>Xiayinru>Yangru>Shangyinru. For the bi-syllable ,the sequency that of former one is Yinping>Yingqu>Yangqu>Shangsheng>Yangping>Xiayinru>Yangru>Shangyinru.while that of the latter is Yinqu>Yinping>Shangsheng>Yangqu>Yangping>Xiayinru>Yangru>Shangyinru.Therefore,basing on the experimental results we discover the duration of Yangping is the Shortest one whatever.in mono-syllable or being as the former or latter syllable in di-syllabic tone;For the case of Rusheng ,Shangyinru is the shortest following by Yangru, and Xiayingru is the longerest whatever in mono-syllable or in bi-syllabic tone. Consequently, the duration sequence for all bi-syllable is Yinping+X>Yinqu + X>Yangqu +X>Yangping +X>Shangsheng +X>Xiayinru +X>Yangru +X>Shangyinru+X.Besides,we also find that the duration of latter is always longerer than the former.when they are belong to the same tone...
